The Secretariat

The Secretariat acts as a Co-ordinating Bureau for the Federation and its Members, helping them develop mutual support and co-operation. Its primary function is to develop co-ordination tools and structures, which optimise the work of the Members. It ensures administration of the affairs of the Board, Technical Commission, Action Groups and other sub-groups. It also co-ordinates the development of technical advice and facilitates the production and distribution of teaching materials for health workers.

Current General Secretary : Mr Douglas Soutar

The General Secretary is the Chief Executive Officer of ILEP and manages the Secretariat. It is the role of the General Secretary to represent the interests of ILEP and its Members to other agencies to promote action against leprosy.
