AIFO

AIFO

AIFO currently supports 33 projects across India and is active in three areas – leprosy,CBR and vulnerable children and collaborates with NGOs as well as with the Government. For the National Leprosy Programme, together with ILEP members, AIFO has been involved in training of general health personnel for integration of leprosy control in general health care.  AIFO also supports projects to carry out CBR programmes to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, including those affected by leprosy.

ALM

ALM

ALM has supported leprosy care in India for 95 years. Among its many partners is Karigirl hospital in South India, a training, research and treatment facility ALM also works in partnership with Habitat for Humanity in India to build homes for leprosy-affected families. ALM works in the states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, anfd Chattisgarh.

DAHW

DAHW

DAHW began working in India in 1957. Currently, DAHW India supports the follwoing activities: Health Education, Socio-economic rehabilitation (SER) and Survey, Education and Treatment (SET). DAHW works in the states of Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Uttaranchal.

DFB

DFB

Damien Foundation in India was established in 1953 with a Leprosy control project in Polambakkam, in Tamil Nadu State. The Damien Foundation India Trust (DFIT) was founded in 1992.  From a single project in Polambakkam the organisation has grown to cover many parts of India. Activities include providing support to the National Programme, training for health workers, POD and rehabilitation.

NLR

NLR

NLR began working in India in 1993, intially only in the state of Bihar. Over the following years  the support extended to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and West Bengal.  In 2000  NLR opened an office in Delhi where the local representative Dr. Arif and the Indian staff is based. NLR gives support via this office to the National Leprosy Programme. NLR is invloved in support and training to national programme and general health-care staff. It also supports self-care groups for people affected by leprosy.

SF

In 2003 Fontilles Lucha contra la Lepra (SF) employed a representative to oversee its projects in India. Fontilles currently supports projects in the states of Orissa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Their work includes community-based rehabilitation and education.

SMHF

SMHF

The Sasakawa Memorial Health Foundation (SMHF) funds organisations to run skills training courses and provided initial costs to facilitate micro enterprises for self-employment. They also support local associations of people affected by leprosy and support educational projects.

SLC

Secours aux lepreux (SLC) work through partners to support leprosy work in India in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa and Tamil Nadu.

TLMI

TLMI

TLMI’s work started in India in 1874 and it remains a key area for the organisation. In the recent past, TLMI's work has moved away from providing purely medical based care for people affected by leprosy to a more holistic, integrated approach that encompasses healthcare, education, rehabilitation and training.

TLMI also runs 18 hospitals in India which provide general medical services as well as specialist leprosy care and referral services.
