Priorities and interests

Priorities and interests

AIFO provides support to projects in developing countries, irrespective of colour, race, religion or gender. AIFO is currently focussing its activities on supporting leprosy-affected persons and people with disabilities through integrated development projects. AIFO also promotes development education activities. The fundamental values which inspire and guide the work of AIFO are: respect and recognition for the human rights and special value of people affected by leprosy and disabilities; a belief in social justice and the dignity and equality of all peoples; opposing any kind of discrimination, especially towards people affected by leprosy and disabilities. AIFO projects emphasise special attention for the weaker sections of society - the poorest families, ethnic minority groups, women and children.

History

History

Amici di Raoul Follereau is an Italian Non-Governmental Organisation, born out of the enthusiasm of a group of young people devoted to spreading the message of Raoul Follereau. The national association Amici dei Lebbrosi was set up in 1961 by Raoul Follereau himself. Its name was changed to Amici di Raoul Follereau in July 1979. AIFO was a founding Member Association of ILEP.
