Asia-Pacific CBR Convention, Kuala Lumpur, 13th – 15th November 2010

Promoting inclusive and sustainable development and introducing the new WHO, ILO, UNESCO and IDDC guidelines on CBR is the theme of this Convention, which is to be held 13th – 15th November 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The main aims of this Convention are:
- to strengthen the delivery of community-based rehabilitation (CBR) and daily practice of evidence-based practices in the field; and
to provide a platform for networking and sharing of knowledge amongst CBR practitioners and policy makers.
In addition, the opportunity will be used to introduce the step-by-step guidelines on implementing CBR programmes that will have officially been launched in Abuja, Nigeria, during October at the Fourth CAN International Conference on CBR.*
This Convention is being organised by the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability, an international non-governmental organisation, whose aim is to promote the empowerment of persons with disabilities and a barrier-free society in developing countries in Asia and the Pacific, such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, China, Mongolia, Fiji, Samoa and Vanatu.
