Centro de Investigação em Saúde da Manhiça (CISM)/Manhiça Health Research Centre
Set up in 1996, CISM aims to contribute towards the development of Mozambique by providing the knowledge that will improve management of diseases that are a cause and consequence of poverty. One of its key functions is to provide technical support to the district, provincial and central structures of the Ministry of Health, especially the national programmes for control of malaria, tuberculosis and leprosy. For example, together with the Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme, they have helped establish activities to improve the detection and management of patients in Maputo Province.
