The WHO, ILO, UNESCO, and International Disability and Development Consortium’s Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Guidelines, which are designed to help empower persons with impairments by supporting their inclusion in all services, are now available in French from the WHO website.

The World Health Organization’s Global Leprosy Programme has been monitoring drug resistance in leprosy through a Sentinel Surveillance Network that it set up in 2008. Publication of research findings into probable zoonotic leprosy in the southern United States in the New England Journal of Medicine on 28th April 2011 has attracted press coverage around the world, much of which could be confusing.
