Dream of Inclusion for All: Powerful CBR Training Materials

Posted on 10 September 2012 by ILEP

“If our aim is inclusion – for the disabled child and for all who are marginalised or not given a fair chance – we must unite behind a collective iconoclastic dream: The Dream of Inclusion for All”. So writes David Werner in the preface to this collection of stories about real-life situations related to disability in Africa, Latin-America and Asia which are intended to raise questions about the reality of the lives of persons with disabilities and to promote thinking about community-based rehabilitation practices.

The range of materials for field workers and management staff, at either a basic or an advanced level, recognises the requirement to be flexible in approaches to community based rehabilitation according to local needs and involving fully those who are disabled and their families in seeking solutions to the challenges they face in trying to participate in life alongside everyone else.

Caritas Germany and ILEP Member Netherlands Leprosy Relief sponsored the development and publication of this book.

Copies can be purchased from Enablement Publishing for € 25 plus distribution costs.

Any profits from the sale of this publication will be used for innovations in the field of community based rehabilitation.
