This discussion list has been set up following the Informal Consultation on Rifampicin Resistance in Leprosy convened by WHO at the National JALMA Institute in Agra, India on 30th November and 1st December.

The purpose of the list is to maintain communication between all those working in this field to exchange information and to work towards use of standardised methods and procedures for surveillance of rifampicin resistance both in the field and in the laboratory.  Use of standard methods will allow the information on rifampicin resistance to be comparable internationally.

The initial list members are those who attended the workshop but the list is open to new members.
