Landmark Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Adopted on 13th December 2006

Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary-General, has described this, the first human rights treaty of the twenty-first century, as the "... dawn of a new era" for the 650 million people with disabilities around the world.

Mr Douglas Soutar, General Secretary of ILEP, has written about what this Convention will mean for the ILEP Federation and the people affected with leprosy with whom they work.
