New Head of Projects at AIFO

Posted on 19 April 2008 by ILEP

Ms Francesca Ortali has recently been named as the Head of Projects for the Associazione Italiana Amici di Raoul Follereau, AIFO. Her role is to manage and co-ordinate human resources within their Project Office. Equally, she is to work closely with the Director and Board of AIFO on all aspects of their strategic and operational planning.

Prior to taking up her new role, Ms Ortali had been working as a Project Manager for AIFO, dedicating the majority of her time to the community-based rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. Ms Ortali studied political sciences and social anthropology before accepting her first job with an Italian association for parents of children with disabilities. Her connection with disabilities continued whilst she was working for AIFO as their Representative in Indonesia between 1996 and 1999.

Ms Ortali believes that relationships are built on mutual respect and she values each person as a human being. She is a great believer in working together, ensuring that each person contributes to those areas in which they have most skills to offer, thereby optimising an organisation’s effectiveness.
