New Programmes Assistant at LEPRA Health in Action
Posted on 5 February 2010 by
In January 2010, Alicia Mills took up the role of Programmes Assistant for LEPRA Health in Action.
Having studied for a first degree in English Literature from the University of Bristol, Alicia pursued a master’s degree in International Development at the University of Bath. She served as an intern for several non-governmental organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa in a support capacity, including the Aga Khan NGO Resource Centre in Tanzania and the Raphael HIV/AIDS VCT Centre in South Africa. Alicia really enjoys learning languages and is hoping to improve her Spanish and French whilst at LEPRA.
Alicia is passionate about working with marginalised communities and is particularly interested in issues related to civil society and government accountability. Alicia is very excited to be contributing towards LEPRA’s work on behalf of people who have diseases of poverty in some of the most deprived countries in the world and is keen to work with projects which engage with public health, which further international development.
