The WHO Disability and Rehabilitation Team’s August 2009 Newsletter on Disability and Rehabilitation has been published.
Among the articles is one by Mr Douglas Soutar, General Secretary of ILEP, on how disability and rehabilitation will be managed within the Enhanced Global Strategy for Further Reducing the Disease Burden Due to Leprosy 2011-2015 and how the human rights of people affected by leprosy can best be protected within an inclusive development approach.
This issue also includes an update on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and a listing of upcoming events.
