Who are we?

The International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations (ILEP) is a not-for-profit organisation and association (Commercial register number CHE-179.299.957). The registered address is Route du Nant-d’avril 150, 1217 Meyrin, Switzerland.

How and why we collect information from you?

We collect contact details about persons who sign up to receive news updates and on our registered members (name, email and phone numbers). We do not hold any sensitive information such as payment or medical records. We do not pass contact details onto third parties for commercial purposes.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site, in an effort to improve the platform for users.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information we collect might include; your name, address, email address, IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when.

This is collected from individuals who visit our site and sign up to receive ILEP email updates, or from members who sign up to use the Members section of the website. As we do not take donations or payments through our site, we do not collect or hold any payment information.

How is your information used?

We may use your information to:

  • seek your views or comments on the services we provide;
  • gain insights about how visitors use our website and identify activity and trends to improve the experience on our site and update relevant content, this is not used to identify individuals;
  • notify you of changes to our services;
  • send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you.
  • activities, promotions of our associated companies goods and services;
  • process a grant or job application.

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.

Who has access to your information?

Only ILEP federation members of staff have access to your information. We will not sell or rent your information to third parties. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may pass your information to our third party service providers, agents subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example to process event invitations). However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is strictly necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes. Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties beyond the ILEP federation for them to use for their own direct marketing purposes.

Your choices

You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. If you do not want to receive direct marketing communications from us about the vital work we do for a world free from leprosy and our exciting services, then you can request removal by ‘opting-out’.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted. You can change your marketing preferences at any time by contacting us by email: officer@ilepfederation.org.

How you can access and update your information

The accuracy of your information is important to us. If you change email address, or any of the other information we hold is inaccurate or out of date, please email us at officer@ilepfederation.org..

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information the International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations (ILEP) holds about you and request we delete this information.

Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. Any sensitive information is encrypted and protected with an SSL certificate on a secure server. When you are on a secure page, a lock icon will appear on the web browser. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
